We are grateful to CAPT Matt Schlarmann, Naval Station Norfolk Commanding Officer, for sharing his evening with the ASNE Tidewater Section members and friends at our January dinner program.

The Captain’s insightful presentation “To Prepare the Fleet” shared important history, mission, and challenges of maintaining the world’s largest naval station, and gave us all valuable appreciation for the shore-based infrastructure, or Foundry, required to keep our ships ready for tasking.
