FMS 2007 Collaborative Events

Bonus Opportunity for Exhibitors:
  • Table-Top Exhibits at MARMC (Monday, 9/17,  0930-1330):  The Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center is located at the Norfolk Naval Base, and is considered the hub of US Navy maintenance planning activity in the Norfolk homeport.  FMS-07 exhibitors are invited to exhibit there the day prior to the symposium, as an opportunity to reach out to customers who might be unable to attend the symposium.
Collaborative Events
We have added several collaborative events to the FMS-07 Program, designed to make Fleet Maintenance Symposium 2007 “THE place to be” if you are in the US Navy or US Coast Guard fleet maintenance business, and to draw as broad of a customer and supplier base as possible to the Virginia Beach Convention Center. We anticipate that these forums, taken collectively, will make for a unique and very rewarding symposium experience for all in attendance.  It is anticipated that most attendees at these collaborative events will also participate in the symposium itself.  See the Program Summary and Program Details for a schedule of these events.
  • US Navy Port Engineers Conference: This two-day annual conference, with an itinerary integrated closely with that of the symposium will bring approximately 60 Port Engineers to attend presentations and visit the exhibit hall. Port Engineers are important point-of-service customers that broker and procure hardware and services directly for USN ships.
  • Luncheons by other professional organizations:  Two vital professional organizations, the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA) and Tidewater Association of Service Contractors (TASC) will hold their meetings as luncheons at FMS-07, each of them open to FMS-07 attendees and with prominent guest speakers committed.
  • JINII Conference (Thu, 9/20, 0800-1500): This semi-annual Joint Industry-Navy Improvement Initiatives Conference brings together approximately 150 military, civil service and industry leaders to discuss policies and strategies to address the most pressing fleet maintenance issues.
  • Panel of RMC Commanders (Thu, 9/20):  This 1st-time panel will join the leaders of the various Regional Maintenance Centers together to share their perspectives and find common ground in addressing fleet maintenance.
  • USCG NEPGT Conference:  This quarterly conference brings together a relatively small (10 – 15) but important contingent of the Council of Captains responsible for program guidance associated with US Coast Guard fleet maintenance.
